OT: Moderating comments

Thanks to a certain commercial sock Web site attempting to spam my blog, I have been forced to switch to moderating comments. This annoys me, but I would rather deal with the inconvenience than risk getting marked as a spam blog. And I certainly don't want some cheap-ass, cheesy sock company using my blog to advertise their site. I did a little checking on the web and found that this same company has over 300 backlinks posted to a variety of blogs and sites all over the net. I have reported them to Blogger, and contacted the company itself to complain. Because I do not want to advertise for them, I will not post the site's name publicly. If you want to know which commercial site NOT to patronize, send me a private message and I will be happy to tell you.

EDIT: 11:04 a.m.
Just had an email from Edward at the sock company, who claims that they paid a company called "SubmissionLive" to advertise their Web site for them. I told him that he should demand a refund. If this company is legit, it should know how to advertise legally. Instead, it is spamming blogs via the comments sites, which puts the blogs at risk of being marked as spam blogs. I am posting the name of the marketing company because I want people to know the company's cheesy practices.

  1. I have always had mine on moderate. Last week, I was surprised to see 16 comment sin my email inbox. ALL were from a spammer. I deleted them. It is people like this that force us to use all these time consuming steps.
