Argh!

I just had to frog my Heart & Sole socks into oblivion. I don't know what I was thinking when I was working these things, but I increased too many stitches (working toe-up) and was about 2 inches into them when it dawned on me, 'Geez, these look big.' I tried them on, and sure enough: too big.

Sigh.

Clearly, I wasn't thinking when I did the increases. I was going to frog them back to the appropriate number of stitches to fit my feet, but some unexpected "help" from Bertie Wooster (the 'kitten' who now weighs 10 pounds, but who still thinks he's a dinky little two pounds) resulted in a nightmare of snarls and raveling that pushed my patience beyond the point where I was willing to fart around trying to pick up stitches.

Thank goodness I've had no "help" with the Stretch socks. I'm about 3/4 done with those.

  2. Uh huh, and SOME people with crafty skills such as yours could learn to knit their own socks! :-p

I know where you can get some loooovely purple sock yarn, BTW. Purple! Your color!! Knits up very nicely into cozy, comfy socks, and it's not crazy expen$ive like some of the sock yarns out there. I have some in my stash right now, but it's mine mine mine, I tell ya!
