In an effort to prevent myself from letting projects drag on and on as I've done this year, I decided to go ahead and post a photo of my WIP toe-ups. I've recommended this tutorial before (Magic Toe-up Cast On - link on my Links I Like list) but I have to do it again. :-) It's so easy, and the frustration factor is ZERO!
This yarn is Knit Picks Simple Stripes (or Simply Stripes? Can't recall). Knitting on size 0 US Addi Turbos.
I'm working on a pair of handspun toe up socks. My last pair were 2 socks on 2 circulars and as much as I liked that, I really prefer not getting getting my balls tangled.

I haven't worked with handspun in socks yet, but I'll bet the socks would be wonderful. I'm enjoying working on these toe-up socks -- but I just haven't had much time to knit lately. Let me know when you update your blog.
